Who we are
ChangeMaker Magazine is a publication where youth can collectively share information and express themselves regarding current events.
We are an extension of the initiative SPEAR, showing political engagement and responsibility. That strives equip the next generation’s political and social awareness.
We will answer why its important to get involved. We will answer where to look for updates and resources to do so. We will answer the when, regarding the political timeline. We will answer who is running for office, and who is already sparking change. We will answer what is going on in the world today. But more importantly, we will answer how you can get involved step by step. Nelson Mandela once said “sometimes it falls upon a generation to be great.” We plan to be that generation.

Opinions/Solutions
We use our platform to give youth a place to express their opinions and ideas regarding current events. This can be about any political or social hot topic. Students can share their opinions as well as provide solutions to these issues.
Awareness
Due to ChangeMaker Magazine being an extension of SPEAR our reach is international. We want to use our platform for youth in other countries and communities to share their stories and bring light to issues over seas.
Political Updates
We believe in equipping upcoming generations with high levels of political and social awareness. As a result we will release updates following elections, legislative agendas, as well as political events.
Our Parent Initiative
SPEAR, Showing Political Engagement and Responsibility is an international youth led initiative founded by Deyona Burton. SPEAR’s mission is to create positive political and social change by increasing civic engage practiced by youth. Currently SPEAR is based in Jacksonville, Florida with a reach of over 10 states and 7 countries.
